On April 4, Audience Architects, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, convened approximately 50 members of the dance community to discuss the dance industry’s recommendations for the Chicago Cultural Plan. Small and large dance companies, downtown and neighborhood companies, choreographers, independent artists, presenting institutions, arts administrators and other members of our community were represented.
Six Key Themes emerged as to how the City could best support our efforts. In addition to the main themes, numerous Recommendations of how to support and achieve these Themes were discussed and endorsed. A comprehensive document containing these items was written and submitted to the Chicago Cultural Planning Committee by Audience Architects on behalf of the dance industry on April 16, 2012.
